04/17/12 at 1:04 pm

On History Channel’s “American Pickers,” Mike and Frank search garages, basements, barns and more in search of unusual treasures. Now they are inviting fifth through eighth graders to give it a try. Amateur treasure hunters can submit short videos and photos, along with essays or bullet points, about a found item with historical significance.

The grand-prize winner of the “Pick and Tell” contest will receive $10,000 and meet the show’s stars in Washington, D.C. Cash prizes will be awarded to two other winners, as well. The contest runs through May 1. Official rules are available on the contest website.

The History Channel is available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic service.
