Suddenlink yesterday launched the TiVo® Premiere DVR, as well as a package of more than 70 new TV channels, including more than 60 high-definition (HD) TV channels, in Brenham, Texas.

TiVo Premiere combines Suddenlink’s service with TiVo’s best-in-class user interface to offer access to thousands of hours of entertainment choices, including content from Suddenlink’s video-on-demand library and the Web, all accessible through TiVo’s advanced search and discovery features.

Customers in Brenham who have multiple TiVo® Premiere DVRs from Suddenlink will also be able to start watching a recorded program in one room and continue it in another. For example, Suddenlink customers with three TiVo Premiere DVRs can record up to six shows at the same time, watch recordings on any TV, start watching in one room and resume in another, and have up to 600 hours of recording space.

Any-room DVR service has been introduced to customers in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia. This list, while not comprehensive, covers the majority of the communities in which this service was deployed prior to today’s launch in Victoria. Additional communities will be announced as they’re confirmed.

Among the new HD channels are broadcast stations KIAH HD (CW), KXLN HD (UNI), KTMD HD (TMO), KUHT HD (PBS) KFTH HD (TEL), KTXH HD (MNT) and KPXB HD (ION). New HD cable networks include Discovery Channel HD, ABC Family HD, Turner Classic Movies HD, MTV HD, Animal Planet HD, Spike TV HD, Outdoor Channel HD and more.

Is there a software update required for any room viewing? I live in the Beckley area and still haven’t received the update.

Thanks for your comment. I’m checking on the particulars for your area and will respond as soon as I’m able to confirm some information.

I was finally able to confirm that the TiVo boxes deployed in your area have not yet been updated with the required software. We will make local announcements when that update happens. Also, in light of this information, I have made appropriate edits to the list of markets (linked in the post above) where the Any Room service is available. Sorry for any confusion. We appreciate for your interest.
