Whitney Houston Shines in ‘Sparkle’

Whitney Houston’s final film, “Sparkle,” comes to Suddenlink Video on Demand in just two days. Producer Debra Martin Chase talked to USA Today about Houston, including a love for the original film that inspired the late singer-actress to suggest a remake. Who Sang This ‘Sparkle’ Song Best?

The Curtis Mayfield classic, “Something He Can Feel,” has been recorded by a number of R&B superstars, including Aretha Franklin and En Vogue — in addition to the casts of both the 1976 and 2012 versions of the film “Sparkle.”  Billboard.com asks: Who sang it best?  Watch all four videos and cast your vote.

Hear Whitney Houston Sing ‘Celebrate’

 

Whitney Houston’s last recorded song, “Celebrate,” is a duet with “Sparkle” co-star Jordin Sparks.  The song and scenes from the movie are featured in this video, which is dedicated to Houston.
